Dustin Mets joined CompDrug in 2008 and was named CompDrug’s second President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2011. Dustin graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Alex Meyer joined CompDrug in 2015 and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2018. Alex holds a Masters in Applied Psychology, and has over 15 years experience in health services programming and research with private non-profit organizations. Alex works to develop and enhance partnerships with other organizations, develop new programming, and enhance existing programming with current focus including enhancement of services for pregnant women. She also serves as the agency’s Research Oversight Officer.
Dave joined the CompDrug team in 2016 as the CFO. He graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting. Dave’s work experience includes over 15 years in the Not for Profit industry including 10 years as a Chief Financial Officer. He is a results driven financial management executive with a demonstrated ability in developing and implementing financial controls and processes that streamline business operations.
Trupti Patel, MD is CompDrug’s Chief Medical Officer. She began her work at CompDrug in June 2013 and became Medical Director in October 2013. She is a psychiatrist and is board certified in adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and Addiction medicine. She has been practicing psychiatry for 11 years and has 7 years experience in the field of addiction.
Jody Hurt Ph.D. is a Psychologist and Chief Clinical Officer at CompDrug, a position he has held since 1993. Dr. Hurt holds Fellow status in the American College of Forensic Examiners and has recognized forensic specialities in the ares of general psychology, substance abuse psychology, and psychological assessments, evaluation and testing. He received his doctorate from The Ohio State University in 1988 and became a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio in 1989. Dr. Hurt directs the development and implementation of all clinical treatment programs at CompDrug. He has shared his expertise over the years as a conference presenter focusing on topics of substance abuse and treatment, co-occurring disorders, psychological assessment and testing, dissociative disorders, developmental trauma disorder, complex trauma syndrome and PTSD.
Candace Paulucci, PhD., LCDCIII, is the Director of Therapeutic Community (TC) Development and Advocacy for Compdrug. She is responsible for assisting and developing new evidence-based TC’s in the correctional population and maintaining the fidelity of the modality within the State of Ohio. She also coordinates TC specific training for the state and completes institutional site visits for upcoming TC programming.
Jill Smock serves as the National Director of Training and Technical Assistance Services for CompDrug/Youth to Youth International with over thirty years of experience in coordinating national speaker presentations, conferences and youth-led prevention technical assistance across the country. She is the contact for those seeking education or training in CompDrug’s area of expertise including mental health, addiction treatment and prevention.
Jill has a degree in Biomedical Communications from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Prevention Specialist II.

Margaret Thomas joined CompDrug in January 2015 as Human Resources Director. She consults with and provides guidance to agency leadership and staff with a focus on staff development, employee engagement and organizational policies and best practices. Margaret attended Louisiana Tech University and has a Master Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology and graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors Degree. She has her professional HR certifications from both the Society of Human Resources Management and the Human Resources Certification Institute.
Carole Harvey, LISW-S, serves as the Chief Compliance Officer, providing oversight for regulatory compliance and accreditation as well as organizational health, safety, and security. Having received her Master’s in Social Work Administration from Case Western Reserve University and her Doctorate in Social Work from The Ohio State University, she has published several studies that explore the dynamic impact of corrections-based therapeutic communities. Carole also serves as a Community Instructor for The Ohio State University and as an Administrative and Program Surveyor for The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), bringing over 35 years’ experience and passion to recovery-oriented practice. Dr. Harvey has been a presenter on a local, national, and international level in the areas of child welfare, adult corrections, and behavioral health prevention, intervention, and recovery.
Stephanie joined CompDrug in 2005 and became Development Director in 2016. Stephanie earned her Master of Social Work and Master of Arts in Public Administration from The Ohio State University in 2013. It is Stephanie’s direct service experience through CompDrug’s Youth Prevention department and Social Work background that drives the passion for her work in development and fundraising. She knows first-hand the difference that can be made when people come together to support a mission. Stephanie’s work as Development Director is to provide philanthropic individuals, organizations and families with opportunities to make an impact in our community through grants, sponsorships, donation, partnerships and volunteerism. Stephanie oversees and implements a strategic fund development plan for CompDrug to secure the resources necessary to support our mission.
Cheryl Sells joined CompDrug in 2006 and was named the Director of Youth Prevention in 2016. Over the course of her career as a certified prevention specialist, Cheryl has served on several community coalitions, managed and coordinated large national youth training conferences and coordinated community and county-wide youth led programs. She has also provided consultation to new and existing youth-led groups within the Central Ohio area and nationally across the county. She has conducted prevention trainings and workshops at various statewide and national conferences. Cheryl graduated from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Elementary education and is an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant.
