Thanks for taking the first step toward being a champion for prevention and recovery!
First, decide if you are joining an existing team or starting your own team. Either way, you’ll need to know the team name before you register.
It’s easy to be a Team Leader and start your own team- we’ve given you the resources you’ll need in this Team Leader Toolkit. By starting your own team, you are helping make our community stronger by raising awareness and resources for the prevention and treatment of addiction.
How to Register:
Step 1: Register for the Journey to Inspiration challenge by starting your own fundraising page here. You must create your own personal page first before joining or creating a team. Your personal fundraising goal will go toward your overall team goal, so set a fundraising goal that’s realistic for you. Please note that creating a fundraising page for this event will register you for Journey to Inspiration on October 12th; no separate event registration is required.
Tip: To set your fundraising goal, think about how many people you might ask and assume that 30% may donate. For example, I’ll ask 15 people for $25, and if 5 of them give, I’ll raise at least $100. You can change your fundraising goal at any time!
Step 2: You will be prompted to either “Start” or “Join” a team.
A) Join a team if you already have friends who are fundraising by typing in their team name. Your personal fundraising goal will go toward the team goal.
B) Start your own team and help make this event a success! You will set a fundraising goal for your team. See the Team Leader Toolkit for more information on setting a team fundraising goal.
Step 3: Start fundraising! It’s easier than you think. Check out the fundraising tips and examples here.
Stay tuned for emails and more information about the event as we get closer. Using the email you registered with, we’ll send you updates, event schedule, how to claim your team t-shirts and more.
Note: You can fundraise individually but must participate in the event in a team of at least 2 people. It’s all about community!
