New Beginnings – Focus is on unhealthy thinking patterns and their healthy counterparts. Examination of unhealthy and healthy belief systems and how they affect behavior.
Healthy Boundaries – Topics are set for each week and include: family of origin, self-esteem, re-framing negative thoughts, communication and boundaries.
Connections – This group utilizes Brene’ Brown’s curriculum, “The Daring Way”, where participants learn about vulnerability, courage, empathy, accountability and authenticity. We work on recognizing shame as it’s occurring, and develop skills to manage it more effectively through our connections with others in group.
Anger Management – This group addresses the destructive cycle that anger inflicts on individuals, families and the community at large. Click for more info.
Problem Gambling – Effective and comprehensive treatment for both the at-risk and problem gambler. Click for more info.
Relapse Prevention Group – This group discusses various topics each week related to relapse as chosen by the group participants.
Grief and Loss Group– This group focuses on processing various losses clients have suffered in their lives and how to manage unresolved grief issues. Open sharing of these events and education about the normal grieving process are the focus of the group.
Stress Management Group – Focuses on understanding how stress effects the body and recovery. Clients will learn how to identify individual stressors, how to change behaviors that continue the stress cycle and how to utilize relaxation techniques to feel calm.
Introduction to Mindfulness Group – Introduces the theory of mindfulness and teaches short mindfulness techniques that can increase distress tolerance, improve emotional regulation, increase awareness of choices, and build coping skills.
Tapering Readiness Group – Provides education about the many factors needing considered when a client is thinking about a voluntary taper to a lower dose of Methadone/Suboxone, eventual taper completely off Methadone/Suboxone, or the process of switching from one medication to another.
Meditation Group – Focuses on breathing and learning to identify stress points in the body. Group leader utilizes different meditation modalities: progressive muscle relaxation, breathing exercises and guided imagery along with music and nature sounds.
Hepatitis C Support Group – A part of The Hepatitis Project where those who are HCV+ work together in a small, closed group setting where patients learn more about Hepatitis C and living a healthy life HCV+.
Hepatitis 101 – An educational group sharing information about viral hepatitis. This group is the place to get research-based information on transmission, treatment, and prevention of Hepatitis C.
I am Ready to Quit Smoking! Group – This group is a smoking cessation group focused on learning research-based information, discovering new coping skills, and supporting other patients interested in quitting tobacco use.
Relationships & Recovery – We will discuss what we need to know about relationships, how to communicate, and what is the most important relationship?
Partners in Adult General Education (PAGE) – A nonjudgmental space for individuals who wish to improve their reading and/or writing skills, at any level. We mix more traditional teaching methods with real-life activities and games to make learning interesting and fun.
Ask-A-Nurse– A weekly open group led by a CompDrug Family Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse. This group provides patient education and answers to patient questions related to various medical topics. A new topic is covered each month. Look at the group calendar to find out the topic of the month. The last Tuesday of every month, the topic will be “Sedatives”.
